From Kent School Games to GB Selection
Former Kent School Games participant Jack Field, from Ramsgate, continues to rise through the Handball ranks after being named in the latest GB U-20 squad. The squad will travel to Portugal for a tournament in June, and Jack hopes a good showing will also see him named in the U20 squad for the European Championships in Macedonia this summer, saying: “This has been my ultimate goal for the last 6 months”.
In a bid to make the plane, Jack has set himself the specific goal of improving his shooting accuracy—something he hopes will be aided by his recent move to Denmark to train under former Danish international Jan Paulsen. All of the hard work seems to be paying off too, as he was recently invited to train with Danish Division 1 team Randers for 2 training sessions. Jack took the opportunity with both hands, commenting “I learnt exactly what it was like to train at the top level, gaining invaluable information”.
We are delighted to see Jack join the list of former KSG participants who have gone on to receive international recognition and be listed alongside the likes of Adam Gemili and Jack Green.
Having recently held our KSG Handball County Final, we are very excited to follow Jack’s, and indeed all of Team GB’s progress at the European Championships—good luck Jack!!
