Active 30:30 has been developed to help schools reduce sedentary behaviour and increase physical activity in young people outside of timetabled curriculum PE.
The Government Childhood Obesity Plan has set out the ambition for all children to achieve one hour of physical activity every day, with schools being responsible for delivering 30 of these active minutes.
We want to support Kent schools and have produced 3 x 10-minute workouts in partnership with Firefighter Fit Kids that schools can use to achieve their Active 30.
On Wednesday 27 June over 1,400 Kent students from primary, secondary and special schools will compete in a range of activities, including Infant Agility, Sportshall Athletics, Disability Football, Netball, American Football, Cheerleading, Change 4 Life and Handball in the largest Kent School Games multi-sport finals day.
On this date, we hope to engage as many schools as possible across the county to complete their Active 30 and share their activity on social media using the hashtag #KentsActive30.
Please promote and join our thunderclap!
At 10am, we will be using a platform called Thunderclap to cover social media with a promotional message about our Kent's Active 30 programme.
Thunderclap is a tool that allows people to pledge a single Tweet or Facebook post to support a cause, and this will be posted along with all the other supporters’ messages at the same time. Think of it as a massive flash mob on social media - this time to support Kent's Active 30, through the Kent School Games.
Sign up to the Thunderclap here and choose either "Support with Twitter" or "Support with Facebook".
With just one post, you can help us reach thousands across the county and help promote your school's involvement in Kent's Active 30. Thank you and good luck!
